[00:00:00]Gennifer:

[00:00:00] Hey, YPN Merz. It's Jennifer. And I'm here with Maureen today and our special guest, Jennifer Llewellyn. And she's from majestic Hutson lifestyle, which is located in Hudson Valley in New York. It's also online and virtual, but we're talking to her today about crystals and we're really excited to learn about different types of crystals, how to know when the fine, you know, how to know which crystal is right for you.

[00:00:20] And then the different uses. For crystals. And if you stick around to the end, we're going to give you a very special discount so that while you're listening and mentally shopping for the crystals, you think that you would like to purchase, you will have a special discount at the end of this episode to get yourself your very own collection of crystals.

[00:00:38] Noreen: thanks Jen. For that. That's sweet.

[00:00:39] Gennifer: yeah. So Jen, welcome  to our practical magic podcast. We're so happy to have you here.

[00:00:43] Jen: Thank you. Thank you guys for having me back.  This is really exciting to talk a lot about crystals and all of their healing powers.

[00:00:52] Gennifer: Yeah,

[00:00:53] Noreen: love them.

[00:00:54] Jen: I know, I know they're our friends. They really are

[00:00:58] Noreen: They hold space in such beautiful, gentle ways. Even when they're powerful, they're still gentle.

[00:01:04] Jen: Yes. You're so you're so right. They have the, or to do many, many things. I guess that's a little bit of what you guys were getting at a little crystal one Oh one today,

[00:01:15] the cliff notes for crystals. I might have to write that book next,

[00:01:19] Noreen: Go right ahead.

[00:01:21] Jen: So I'll give you my own personal take on it.

[00:01:24] I was that little girl in the crystal shop when I was four, when my father was bringing me to like hike in Indian reservations or this, that, and the other. And I'd always have all these rocks, you know? And, and, and I guess from a very young age, I felt that power. And, here we are fast forward to what was it?

[00:01:43] Three years ago, I opened  the only crystal healing room in Westchester County, where our first brick and mortar is located in Katonah, New York. Whether you come to the shop or you collect your own from the earth or other sources, all crystals. I have such the ability to the heel and to align you in ways that you can never even imagine they do it consciously.

[00:02:04] They do it unconsciously. They could be spirit guides for us all, crystals, add a little extra guidance and strategy to your daily performance, like longterm, and even just quickly. Decision making and they help you really tap into your own source of, you know, divinity or balance equilibrium.

[00:02:22] However you want to divide it, you know, for some it's very simple for some it's much more metaphysical, but really they just help in, in so many easy ways without even trying.

[00:02:34] Gennifer: that's great. So what, what are like, um, are there like, is there like a top 10 list or top three list of crystals that you would, um, start off with? If you're a beginner?

[00:02:40] Jen: Yeah. Yeah. I would definitely say there are a few, every crystal has, has a different sort of healing power. some overlap often, I would say, um, the top, the top three off the bat of your beginner, I would definitely say that any kind of clear quartz, which attracts a lot, a lot of positivity into your, or in space.

[00:03:03] Um, if it's a crystal point. Yeah, all the better, you know, sacred geometry is a big thing with crystals. I mean, they're made from the earth, so there's a lot of geometric patterns. And if you believe in that sort of thing, that amplifies the vibration and the healing vibration since they're so courts tumbled or a point.

[00:03:20] Gennifer: when you say tumbled or, I mean, you're talking like literally like a point, it comes to a point

[00:03:24] like a

[00:03:25] Jen: like a little kind of like a little arrow at the top. You know, those are literally naturally created by the earth, the crystal points. I know sometimes you'll see crystals that are faceted by, you know, mastercraftsman, they're things like a Vogel is known as that's a big one. Again, I'm jumping to like crystal, the fifth, fifth level crystal here.

[00:03:43] Noreen: she's teasing the masters in

[00:03:45] crystal, right.

[00:03:48] Jen: exactly the master. Claudins

[00:03:49] Noreen: Masterclass. That'd be fun.

[00:03:51] I love that idea.

[00:03:52] Jen: two more, also amethyst

[00:03:56] Yeah. So amethyst is usually a really deep purple hue, especially when it gets to be like a grownup amethyst, because remember they start while they get much bigger. Usually you see the atmosphere, this little amethyst points with the raw version and I'm at this is for balance peace and harmony.

[00:04:13] a lot of times people come in, what do I do? I was like, I need some harmony. Need some joy, right? We need some levity. We need a little contentment, something to balance out.

[00:04:23] So I would first place. So there would be amethyst, you know, I'll tell you some of my other favorites later in the episode that do similar things, but amethyst is another power crystal. These are part of the power set, I would say. And the third, that I'm going to suggest is citrine. That's usually a golden color, very pretty.

[00:04:43] And I love citrine well, personally, a Citron often known as the entrepreneurs stone. So if you're looking to venture out into something new, a new venture, even a new hobby, it doesn't have to be a full fledged, you know? Business. Entrepreneur's a big thing right now, but you have something new, a new task you want to perfect.

[00:05:04] Or hone that craft a citrine is definitely your go to, in fact, just the other day I had a girl come in, and she was like, Oh, I got the job and   dah, dah, dah. So what do I do now?

[00:05:16] Gennifer: New

[00:05:17] Noreen: what's past citrine. Exactly.

[00:05:19] Jen: Yeah.

[00:05:20] Noreen: you called these a power set. what do you mean exactly

[00:05:23] with that? with that?

[00:05:24] Jen: well, I not necessarily power set so much as like the, the, if I was to pick the top, five crystals off the back of your beginner, you know, which, and the reason I'm saying this is not just because they're beautiful and they're pretty colors. I want you to pick up a chord and have it in your home or wear it on a piece of jewelry or.

[00:05:40] In your Palm while you're meditating and feel what it does for you. for example, I'll tell everybody, I mean, you know, you go to the gym for 30 days, you know, can you run five more miles?    Like when you have cord citrine and amethyst in your, Space your personal space one way or another, what do you see shift in your life? Did it make you calmer? Did it bring you more joy? Are you more focused?  how did it enhance or heal you? It's really very simple.

[00:06:09]

[00:06:09] Noreen: I really liked that. Just a simple 30 day challenge. just tuning into how they're made, how they may or may not be making an impact for

[00:06:17] you.

[00:06:17] Jen: Exactly.

[00:06:18] and I've had people say, you know, they just don't do well, it's, it's great. I know it's doing something and then I'll get people who would be like, Oh my God, yet, I had no idea. You told me this certain, um, crystal and, it just opened up so many other things for me, or I feel much more calm     I'm going on a slight tangent here, but it's hard for little kids right now, you know, uh, they're home and they're either online or they haven't,  some kids aren't sleeping.  Some kids need to be more focused with their studies,   to have little kids coming all the time.

[00:06:49] Like, Lapita, light's a good one to put under your pillow at night helps you sleep,

[00:06:53]Noreen: that's a dream stone, dream stone,

[00:06:53] Gennifer: that?

[00:06:54] Jen: kinda purple-y it looks like Micah.

[00:06:57]Yeah, exactly. It's

[00:07:00] Noreen: Yeah.

[00:07:00] Jen: stone and it's very pretty, again, beginner's mind if we good ourselves, like little kids admiring these stones for the first time, what is it about them that attracts them to us?

[00:07:13] I mean, I always say that when he comes into our healing room,  in and I say, for example,

[00:07:18] Noreen: Hey

[00:07:18] Jen: You're still there. So they walk in and I'll say, for example, am I still here?

[00:07:19] Noreen: You are

[00:07:19] Jen: All right. I'll just start over. Okay. So yeah, so they walk into my space, my beautiful room and they ask for a, B and C.

[00:07:19] And then, you know, obviously I always like, all right, well ask a few questions, but I always go, well, here's a little bin. Now you go pick out a bunch of stuff, I'm going back to the counter and then you bring back what you felt. Don't don't look at the price tag. Don't let, just tell me what you feel.

[00:07:30] And they come back and nine times out of 10, they're like, yeah, that's exactly what I wanted. So like, if somebody didn't even know what a green venturing did and they just said, I don't know what it is about this one, but I picked this one up and then I go of, well, clearly, you know, they didn't know that that was going to help with their headache or their kidney stone,    I'll I'll just add one to the set. Of the, if I, if I was to say there's a power set or a beginner set, um, black tourmaline. Okay. So, you know, I could sit here and talk about the wonderful positive stuff. Right. But crystals do help us to sort of push back the negative stuff too much. Like when you're saging your home or things like that, black tourmaline is a big one for that.

[00:08:01] And a lot of people come in for that. You know, you bring into work, you have a, something you have to deal with, or what have you, it helps kind of keep the negative vibes

[00:08:10] on the outskirts, out of your sphere,

[00:08:14] Noreen: That's awesome.

[00:08:15] Gennifer: I had learned about that from a psychic medium that I'm friends with who was, who's been on the show that she wears them on her when she does, you know, readings. And I had gotten a bunch of them and taken them to when I was still in, um, the, in the city working in an office and I had them at my desk and I would keep them in my pockets when I would go to meetings.

[00:08:34] And it honestly. You know, it was working. Yeah. Like it was like, you know, I'm, I'm, you know, I didn't do it every single day, but when I did it, it worked. And then on the days I did, and I was like, what is

[00:08:43] wrong with me? That I

[00:08:44] don't prepare myself in this way.

[00:08:46] Jen: See, that's the test So let's say you're going through something traumatic where have black,

[00:08:52] you know, black tourmaline in your pocket for 30 days.

[00:08:55] Gennifer: Yep. I'm going to do that this whole month.

[00:08:59] Noreen: she's got it in her hand right now. You know, what I was fascinated by though is how do we know about the properties? you know, have science investigated it, it is it, is it ancient wisdom being handed

[00:09:13] down?

[00:09:13] Jen: Little bit of everything. I will tell you where I learned things. I think that's the best, because I think in a way it is kind of like, I'm not saying it's like being brought down generation to generation, but there's certain it's like, like learning Dharma, right? Yeah. You know, I've done a lot of dharmas study and I think I've learned the crystals, like the same way.

[00:09:32]I used to always joke about wanting to be friends with all these geologists, you know, as if I would learn the science of the earth. Right. However, at the end of the day, I'm still that little kid who was picking up stones. You know, 70% of my crystals come from the mind to majestic.

[00:09:47] I say, like I hand select them all,

[00:09:50] I would go to the countries and get it myself,

[00:09:50] Noreen: Totally. Do you go to the big gem and mineral festival? The one that's in,

[00:09:50] Jen: it or not. There's one in, yeah, there's one in, um, in, um, In Phoenix in Arizona, there's one in Colorado as well.

[00:09:50] You're, you'll laugh, but I will be completely transparent that I have never been. I always would go to Jimmy mural shows when I was a teenager. I've been to many of them. However, when I opened the store as if there was a divine, um, blissful intervention, um, Many of my vendors either came to me or I somehow found out about them and I have personal relationships with each of them.

[00:09:50] Like next, next week, my guys from Brazil is coming through and like, literally they get off of. The freight they get into his car. They come to me, you know, um, or I have people who get stuff from around the world and I go visit them at their warehouses and I spend, you know, a day or two. And because I do, pick them specifically, it's not like, Oh, I need a bunch of purple.

[00:09:53] I need it. But I don't do that. I'm an artist. And I love color. That is not how I select crystals. Crystals are they're healers. They are healers. They have to be specific. And I go by my intuition too. You know, I go into a warehouse. I picked up some Ruby Fuschite, uh, in June. I dunno. Why, why did I want to refresh?

[00:10:13] Why, why did I think everybody would need Ruby Fushi and it's gone. It's all gone.

[00:10:19]Noreen: what are

[00:10:19] Gennifer: is that for?

[00:10:20] Noreen: of that?

[00:10:20]Jen: a very good one. That's also really good for like, focused,  in terms of like, uh, For example, it's a calming stone first and foremost. Everybody wants calm right now, but it also kind of helps you go inward to like direct your energies for a project.

[00:10:32] It's a little not, I wouldn't call it quite like citrine, but it goes a little bit deeper. it's rooted in the heart. So it's a little bit more of a deeper perspective of something that you want to, um, accomplish is a big word, but I think it helps you. Birth   something, you know, I don't always, I don't always, it's funny people ask me these questions that I'm here to tell you all of them, but sometimes it's like, when I'm in the shop, it's like an intuition thing too.

[00:10:42] Like I know what. Exactly. Exactly. So it's, it's funny to say it here. Like here, I feel like it's very like yup. Back to liking crystals for dummies books, you know? Cause I w but at the end of the day, it's very personal. You do need to hold them. You need to see them, you know, I invite you all to come to the shop  even if you just want to stand in the room,  I honestly, it, like I said, it's one of the old, it is the only crystal healing room in Westchester County.

[00:10:53] I no longer let anybody use cell phones in that backroom. You know, our space is a sanctuary. We share with a yoga studio that's like 15 years ago, gongs and sound deaths.  Like, you know, there's masterful energy going into these crystals just by their location too. Not just where they were grown.

[00:11:11] Noreen: So they're coming to you, they're picking you. They're

[00:11:13] like

[00:11:16] I'm going for the sound bath.

[00:11:18] It's like their own spa.

[00:11:19]Gennifer: I found you because this one rock, I guess, was calling me  that's um, I live not too far from Jen's shop, like many other customers that make their way in there. I just, you know, was drawn to park in a certain spot and turned down a certain street.

[00:11:31] It was not like a purposeful visit, but when I. Yes, but when I walked in, um, I felt like I needed something that day. I remember leaving my house. It was back in late February, early March, and just feeling like, you know, overtly feeling discombobulated from what was happening from the world around us.

[00:11:51] Jen: I think I ended up with this stone, which I believe came from Brazil. Yes. That's an Amazon night and it's like a greenish color. She's looking at it right now.  That particular crystal is really good for communication.  it's funny cause that day too, Jen.

[00:12:08] And if, if we may make this as a personal example, this is really a good, you know, so like Jen and I know each other, but we don't really know each other, but we're kind of vibing as friends that happens a lot when I meet people and, and she's, she's just, she's drawn to that piece. And then I found out she's a marketing, you know, I didn't know that.

[00:12:27] Gennifer: Yeah.

[00:12:27] Jen: And, you know, we now know a lot about each other in terms of being co-marketing and things like that. that, you know, throat chakra, communication, visualization,

[00:12:39] Gennifer: Yep.

[00:12:40]Jen: good for any kind of communication, not just your own when you have a, again, getting back to that word, we'll use the last podcast with relationships, you know, being able to communicate with others efficiently, clearly.

[00:12:48]Gennifer: And when you talk about, um, you know, communication, I think, and I know you talk a little bit about shockers sometimes with crystals  So. You know, the literal sense of the shocker, that communication, I would think is the blue, you know, throat shocker, but this being green do do these stones when you were talking about Sutra Citron before citrine, and you were saying that was good for entrepreneurs, I believe was that the, for entrepreneurs and that was like a yellow color, which.

[00:13:10]You know, it ties to your solar plexus, which is the shocker about like feeling like you're capable of doing something, having that power to actually act on what you believe to be

[00:13:19] true.

[00:13:20]Jen: this is one thing where I tend to,  run my own, my own course. a couple of years ago, I was kind of called this. This is a side story, but it's going to help with this information. I was kind of called to write a book about the chakras and meditation, a very simple book called rainbow consciousness, meditate like a double rainbow.

[00:13:39] And within that book, I offer enhancements like crystals, aroma therapy, those types of things that help you while you're attuning these different energy centers within your body, the shocker system. Right? Color of the crystal does not always have to correspond with the color of the chakra. Okay.

[00:13:57] I mean, some people may feel that way. I definitely will tell you that when I'm personally meditating, there's times I'm meditating and I will see a color, but even if I see, you know, green. In my mind's eye, you know, that doesn't necessarily mean it's Asana heart. And the same thing goes with crystals.

[00:14:16] So it was a night like you said, it's a greenish color, but throw chakra. When you look at the colors, as you see them in mainstream media is blue, right. But Amazon will help you for communication. So is that a good example?

[00:14:32] the colors do not have to always correspond, but it's okay. Led many of them to do citrine works for swastika, Ghana, like sacral. Right. And that color is accurate. You know, but citrine could also help for like, I'm trying to think which other ones I would do off hand.

[00:14:47] Well, Mani Pura, which is blue, so I'm not even if it was more like a yellow either  So it's similar, but you know, Le

[00:14:50] you know, black tourmaline is root, but as black there's no black sharks.

[00:14:55] Noreen: But it's

[00:14:56] just dense. It's good for dense energy. So it'll pull you back in. Yeah. Yeah, right, right, right, exactly. Um, just to interject my teachings is that there isn't one color for even the chakras. So it makes sense.

[00:15:07] Gennifer: Oh,

[00:15:07] Jen: Great. Good to hear.

[00:15:09] Noreen: a little bit of a default, and I think it's, it's almost like the Crayola pack.

[00:15:13] Right. But if you, if you got the APAC, you're fine, but there's really way more.

[00:15:18] Jen: yeah. That's so true. I love that analogy,

[00:15:24]Gennifer: So when you're, when you're, trying to pick a crystal, cause I know sometimes like in the past I've decided I wanted one and I would Google, you know, crystals for let's say anxiety, right? And then there's like 12 different crystals that come up as options other than like going to the store and holding it for those who aren't going to be able to make it into your store.

[00:15:43] What's another way.

[00:15:44] that you can decide or help determine which one is the right one for you.

[00:15:48] Jen: That's a really, really good question. Um, it gets back to. One of your other questions? I don't think I'm exactly finished. A lot of it comes by intuition, and deep study. You know, there's some people who have like this moment when melody is like, she's, she's one of the biggest crystal researchers there is.

[00:16:03] And there's a Bible I go by, but I think that you one would hope that I would think whether you have a heightened sense of intuition or not like to do a little research and go and experiment. crystals. You know, I sell $2 crystals and I sold $2,000 crystals.  you don't have to break the bank, to try something out.

[00:16:23]some places you may live somewhere in the world where you could pick one up off the ground, you know, that's, I mean, that's

[00:16:28] Noreen: yeah.

[00:16:29] Yeah, that's true. You could always ask it to manifest for you so that you could try it, but, and that could even be in the physical realm or even in your meditation space, I would think, as you said, you come up with you Google it and there's like six or 12 choices. You just kind of tune in and ask which one is.

[00:16:46] This is the one you need right now

[00:16:48] Jen: You have to start somewhere.

[00:16:50] Noreen: They have a high intelligence. And that's what I think obviously makes it sound super airy fairy. It's not in the world. It's out in the mainstream world too, to acknowledge the. Frequency and intelligence of crystals. Otherwise we'd have to stop ruining the earth,

[00:17:05] Jen: Yeah. True.

[00:17:06] True, true.

[00:17:07] Noreen: but you know, they really do.

[00:17:09] I mean, we've all, we all talk about these experiences of encountering a

[00:17:13] crystal, you know, it's like it stops right here. You know, it's me,

[00:17:16] I'm the one,

[00:17:17] Jen: They do. They find you

[00:17:19] Noreen: that can happen even off a list or even

[00:17:21] off an image.

[00:17:22] Jen: I agree a hundred percent

[00:17:24]now more than ever, crystals are so hot and I'm so happy. Cause people are not like turning, you know, like, uh, people are not questioning the, the power of sacred geometry and crystals,

[00:17:36] Noreen: right. And by having the experience, right, like you're saying that 30 day challenge, or even just the little. You know, test of what feels

[00:17:44] right.

[00:17:45] Jen: Great

[00:17:46] Noreen: the experience defies any of the, you know, kind of mental

[00:17:49] objections.

[00:17:51]Jen: And the experience, by the way,

[00:17:52]births itself for many places, you know, we're talking specifically about crystals today, but many of you listeners, as well as you guys, cause we've had many conversations. The experience might start from someplace else. You go to a yoga class and somebody has to happen to have a crystal you've never taken a yoga class before.

[00:18:06] When you walk into a jewelry store, do you see something? Just because it's a faceted, citrine on a beautiful gold chain doesn't mean it doesn't matter the same power like this Mala I'm wearing right now.

[00:18:18] Noreen: Such a good point.

[00:18:19] Jen: they're around us all over the place. You know, kids are studying geology in school.

[00:18:26] some of my best cute little, I don't ever want to call customers. They're like my best friends, these little boys that are learning geology in class and they come into my shop. I loved him.

[00:18:35] They are

[00:18:35] Noreen: That is so cute. Yeah, I have three nephews and each of them, when they were, you know, maybe. 12 or, or last the youngest, one's about to be 12. They love the crystals in my home. They love them and they always gravitate towards them. And I think, I think it might've been my middle nephew at one point, you know, he was picking them up and I want him to, you know, totally commune with them and have the best time a couple of are expensive.

[00:19:04] I was like, and I was like, Oh, hold on. That one's, you know, that one's delicate and all the cost, it was a little pricey and he just turned to me. Absolutely stunned and was like, you buy these, you know, and I just loved it because in his innocence, you know, his relationship to them were that they were of the earth.

[00:19:24] And so it was

[00:19:25] already like wacky that you would buy these, you know, it was, so it was just such a weird thing on his face. Like how, what,

[00:19:33] Jen: Well, there's also so many stories.  Um, something, if, if you guys, you know, listeners, I do, I try. I'm going to try to. You know, reboot this up in the next few months, I do a lot of rituals and workshops online on YouTube, but I also, for a while was doing a crystal magic story of the week

[00:19:43] Noreen: Oh, sweet.

[00:19:45] Gennifer: I just watched your one about

[00:19:46] Jen: There you go.

[00:19:47]this is so much fun. It's like story time for adults about crystals. There's a story, an anecdote and folklore, like a mile long about these, these things, like you said, did you buy this? Like, this is, you know, this was brought to us by Zeus, you know, or there's, and there's a lot, there's a lot to that.

[00:20:03] And I think that that's amazing. And even Joe, just from a, just a gentle. Um, welcoming letter Le um, sort of aspect my nephews as well. What, you know, there's this project called flat Stanley with the kids. Oh. Flat Stanley came to Majesta Cutson and, and he got a citrine.

[00:20:15] Noreen: I had a good old time.

[00:20:16] Jen: So that was cool. So my nephew gave a whole report about this situation, you know, I mean, it just,

[00:20:19] it just the study, How do we learn to know ourselves? How do we learn to know these things from the earth?

[00:20:24]Gennifer: I have to tell you sidebar, cause we keep talking about little boys and, and crystals,  If you're not familiar with cartoon network has a cartoon called Steven universe. he is with crystals, crystal gems. So there's a Garnet there's. amethyst, there's actually Pearl, she's not really a crystal, it's like a really cookie show.

[00:20:42] I love it. But the, the women in there are crystals,

[00:20:46] Jen: Oh my God. I love that.

[00:20:47] Gennifer: yeah. And

[00:20:48] they're not like superheroes or they, they just,

[00:20:49] they

[00:20:50] Noreen: Oh, that's crazy. I love that idea.

[00:20:52] Gennifer: a great

[00:20:52] cartoon. You absolutely have to say it.

[00:20:54] Noreen: It's funny that you mentioned Garnett because I was going to bring it up. When you said about finding the stones. Naturally, I don't think this happens any longer, but when I was a kid, we used to go up to the Adirondacks there'd be cabins and lakes and all that.

[00:21:09] And one of the places that we stayed, I couldn't possibly remember the town anymore, but the whole Lake shore. Was rocks and Garnet, we would just spend the day picking Garnett. And we just, I don't know, it was just magical and we loved it. So

[00:21:23] it's, again, it's that same idea of like my nephew going, you bought these,

[00:21:26] Jen: right,

[00:21:27] Noreen: know, it's just a really cool idea.

[00:21:28] They were just right there.

[00:21:30] Gennifer: Well collecting rocks and seashells, which I guess are sort of, you know, similar material, if you will. But you know, there, there is like, people do that anyway, and it is amazing how, you know, if you've never had a crystal, but you collect rocks  when you're at or seashells at the beach, like you're called to them, certain shapes and colors.

[00:21:46] And you know, for whatever reason you're called

[00:21:48] to them.

[00:21:48] Noreen: Jen. I love that. It's like, you just answered your own question. Sorry, Jennifer. No, I was just gonna say like, that's exactly the answer to the question. If you can't physically be in a store. It's that feeling right? That feeling that anyone's ever had from finding their own personal little earth, treasure, you know, from a feather to a seashell, that's the feeling you want, even when you're looking or reading about something that you can't touch yourself until it arrives in a fun

[00:22:10] little

[00:22:12] Jen: you're living your own fairy tale. Can I say that? I mean, that's my life. I mean, I, I feel like I'm living this failure to tell, like, I'll, I'll joke around. You know, Jen has probably seen these posts. I do like in summertime when everything's kind of dead,

[00:22:13] Gennifer: yeah.

[00:22:13] Jen: on a beach somewhere with all my crystals.

[00:22:13] I'm here. You still hear me? You're good. I'll start it. Okay. So. Um, living your own fairytale, uh, when it's summertime, you know, I always say I'm out there, I'm floating, I'm doing my thing. And I bring all my crystals with me when I'm going to go paddle boarding or what have you. And I always joke that, you know, the whole, she, she sells seashells by the seashore.

[00:22:21] You know, it's like a rhyme, it's like a nursery. Right. But I'm like, but that's literally me. You know, you know, like whether it's crystals or shells or these earth things exactly on point or an agenda, it's like exactly that.  yes, I make a living doing this.

[00:22:31]And, but it's my deep passion, you know, it is like this stuff works.  There's there's no, there's. You know, divine intervention to put me where I am with all these different things coming together, whether it's yoga, whether it's crystals, whether it's, and you know, it's not really commercial it's healing.

[00:22:35] I'm sorry. I always say Chris it's crystal healing, alignments it's hundred thousand percent. I mean, if somebody wants to something else to do,

[00:22:46]Noreen: Yeah, there's something else for you. Exactly. But let's go back to that because you talked about alignment earlier, and I think you mentioned grids and you know, that was a trend, I guess, a little bit more towards the last year, about at least in terms of social media, the crystal grids going out and. Can you just talk a little bit more about those?

[00:23:07]Are they, you know, how what's their potency versus just having, a single, powerful crystal that spoke to you

[00:23:17] you know? Cause I see them on the body, but I also see them

[00:23:19] in the

[00:23:19] space.

[00:23:20] Jen: Yes.

[00:23:21] we'll start with space first, grids and Mondalez, you know, you see that in many. sacred rituals as well, like sand Mondalez, that's impermanence.

[00:23:32] Right.

[00:23:33] Noreen: Oh, I love yeah. San Medallia's

[00:23:35] Jen: crystals are kind of a little bit of the opposite of that. I look at crystal grids as, a really great tool for manifestation.

[00:23:41] I know we'll talk about that some other time as well, but when you're setting an intention or you want to manifest something, Sacred geometry is a good place to hold that space for that intention. So it becomes a ritual within itself. Like usually a grid is, is some sort of sacred geometry, like a flower of life, some other form of a yantra or a Mandalah like I was saying, and, you know, you choose, I'm not going to get through the whole tutorial.

[00:24:10] We do do workshops on this,

[00:24:12] Noreen: Oh,

[00:24:12] that's a great thing.

[00:24:13] Jen: At least every other month, I do some variation of that and integrate them into other things. Cause it, it can be very intricate or very simple, but you basically. Pick different crystals based upon where your intention is set, you know, like you have a focus, you have a desire a, there's a journey involved in that.

[00:24:31] what's your direction? You know, how does your desire. Weave into your focus, your plan, your journey. You know, a lot of people always tell me, I've thought all about follow your bliss. I'm a big vintages of Campbell. That call to adventure is literally intact in a crystal grid.

[00:24:46] Noreen: Yeah, it's dimensionalized And then it's infused in the

[00:24:49] geometry. That's pretty cool.

[00:24:51]Jen: and the crystals are geometry too. And so are our bodies and ourselves. I mean, I could go on and on and on but for, if you want to just take one or two of those elements and experiment with the power of it, you'll notice how it affects the other elements as well. So it's about the placement of the stones.

[00:25:10] I mean, sometimes you Sage, you know, but again, that's another form of a little shrine. I will say that when I do a grid and if anyone is wants to, whether you Google it or you come to a workshop or I help you do it on your own, when you're creating a grid, you do want to keep it intact for about 30 days.

[00:25:29] Again, back to that 30 day thing,

[00:25:31] Noreen: curious about that. Yeah.

[00:25:33] Well, 28 days is a cycle, right? It's

[00:25:35] Jen: exactly. So that will help you set that intention and you could add to it. You don't take away, you just always add to it. So everything's placed with intention and purpose and, you know, you let your own mind and feeling and energy go from there.

[00:25:51]Noreen:  That's pretty cool.

[00:25:55] Jen: you know, majestic cuts in. I always say my mission is to foster connection, inspire creativity

[00:26:00] and support a compassionate lifestyle, one blissful experience at a time.

[00:26:06] Noreen: Yeah. You know, I like the way you framed that because. This, the shop is really kind of the outfitter

[00:26:13] Jen: yeah.

[00:26:14] Noreen: you know, it's where you get what you need in order to

[00:26:17] create the experience. I really

[00:26:18] Jen: It's true. It's true. And everybody, and everything in the shop. We're all. Hudson Valley makers for the most part or fair trade imports. I know. I mean the energy of just the creators in itself. Is something that's really important to me. I want people to walk away with something that's made with love and intention and people who practice, you know, when I have artwork hanging it's people who practice deeply, that energy is in the work.

[00:26:47] You know, I'm not getting, crystal tumbled at some factory in China. You know, are there crystals from China that are important, baby?

[00:26:55]Noreen: but not mass produced is the point. Yeah.

[00:26:58] Jen: you know, I just  I'm a maker too. I've, I've grown up with makers and I'm not just saying that to be prideful either.

[00:27:04] I just think there's energy

[00:27:05] Noreen: Well, you could tell the difference.

[00:27:07] Jen: you can you're right. You absolutely can.

[00:27:09] Noreen: Yeah.

[00:27:09] it makes sense.

[00:27:10] Gennifer: It's like free range crystals.

[00:27:13] Jen: Yeah,

[00:27:14] Noreen: That's really funny.

[00:27:17]don't know, Jen, you just sparked my memory, but as you say, free range crystals. when do you know if you need to clear your

[00:27:23] crystals

[00:27:24] Jen: yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:27:25] Noreen: do you do that best? Because there is

[00:27:27] crystal hygiene.

[00:27:28] Jen: Oh, yeah, they're completely is that's. Oh, I would never put those two words together, but now I'm going to use it. Is that because, you know, it's funny now everybody understands like cleansing could mean many different things for many different people, so And if you follow us on majestic cuts in, on Insta and all that, I put a lot and I'm trying to get more and more resources  that we have.

[00:27:43] We're a small team. It's mostly me, but we're getting lots of new, innovative things out to educate people, resources are needed. and thank you again for the podcast here because I'm getting it out.

[00:27:50] It's so much fun.

[00:27:51] Noreen: we're so

[00:27:52] Gennifer: yeah.

[00:27:53] Noreen: dying to have

[00:27:54] Jen: Oh, great. I just love it.

[00:27:55] Noreen: share it with our listeners.

[00:27:56] So.

[00:27:57]Jen: The moon is a powerful force, right?

[00:27:59] Everyone's like why the moon? Well, I'll let you say that the moon moves the ocean with tides. Okay. So if it can move the ocean, it probably could cleanse our crystals. Okay. So this is one way to cleanse the crystals. So the energy of the full moon. you don't have to do it every month.

[00:28:15] You can, many people are very vigilant about it, but I would say your crystals will kind of like not lose their luster, but lose their energetic, um, zest it's like you got to charge your Tesla. Let's put it that way.  Your electric car. Um, so you could charge a lot, many of them with the moon. So the, you could just put your crystals out on the full moon.

[00:28:29] They don't have to be outside. That could be in a window sill, but outside is good too. so that's a good way to do it. The full moon energy usually lasts for the day of, and three days after. So, you know, if you're marking your calendar for this, don't worry if like, Oh, I miss the full moon, like just put them out.

[00:28:47] Noreen: Great.

[00:28:48] Darn 27 days. have to wait now.

[00:28:51] Jen: It's like, what am I going to do now?

[00:28:54]I know it's like, I need that tourmaline. I need to go into this meeting next week

[00:28:54] are real problems. People, real problems. That's like your best choice. Also Sage, if you burned Sage that's, you know, Sage helps your crystals. So your space,

[00:29:01] Noreen: What about Palo Santo then?

[00:29:01] Jen: Paula.

[00:29:01] Noreen: What about Palo Santo then?

[00:29:04] Jen: Paula. Sentos my fav, Oh we have the best Paula Santo Santo the one I get is very sustainably regrown harvested from Peru.

[00:29:15] It's known as Holy wood as a much sweeter smell. then Sage is a little hard to burn, it's used in many, many rituals. I have a pulverized version in addition to the wood itself. That's. Amazing. mosquitoes don't like it either. So we found it on our outside. Yeah.

[00:29:31] It's the best. It's the best. So Paul Santo is another good cleansing and you know, again, where to do more research, there are certain, I think Amazon tonight that you have Jen also maybe greener venture, and I'm not sure you could put them in dried lavender. certain herbs will help your crystals.

[00:29:48] I wouldn't, don't jump to water

[00:29:50] Gennifer: about saltwater.

[00:29:55] Jen: what I would suggest, I mean, you could always go like mini ritual or big ritual.  If you're going to do like the big one, then, you know,

[00:29:59] Gennifer: Oh, you're breaking up. Sorry,

[00:29:59] Jen: here? If you're only doing it? So tell me. Wait till you hear me. All right. Okay. Can you guys hear me? Okay, good. I'll start over. So again, it's always up to you to decide the extent of your. You know, cleansing ritual for your crystals.  You know, it's kind of like, do I want to wash my hair every day? Do I want to quit? You know, do a big ritual for my crystals once every three months or every month, it's up to you. But if you don't have any soft crystals, you could give them a light bath, you know, led light wash with, you know, Himalayan, salt and water, dry them off, then put them out in the Moonlight. That's like a really good one. Just start with, um, some crystals are very soft, like two of my very big favorites. I'm going to add these to the power, my power mix or cocktail selenite.

[00:30:28]Which is for good luck and protection, but it's a soft stone. I actually put it in a lot of my Sage sprays because it will dissolve. So you could like spray it like a diffuser. You could put it over your door frame after you saved your house to help protect what comes in and out. But it's soft. So if you leave it out side in the rain or in the snow it's it will dissolve. Yeah. exactly. I mean, not like overnight, it's not, it's not a, you know, ice cream bar.

[00:30:56]Gennifer: Where are those from?

[00:30:57] I'm just curious,

[00:30:57] where they survive

[00:30:58]in the,

[00:30:58] Jen: a lot of selenite comes from Morocco.

[00:31:01] It's actually, it's plentiful, for somebody like me. It's sometimes hard to get. I have very specific people that import it, like on huge freights, but I have to wait, you know, cause it's, it's soft.

[00:31:13] And sometimes like, I, I get some, uh, one of my most popular items as a selenite charging bowl, by the way. So selenite, this is where I was going. Tell you, so these two other crystals. Okay. Cell and I, and Kaia night charge other crystals. So they charge other crystals. So if you're having like a lazy month where you just forget to put them out in the moon, just put them in your selenite bowl or near some other selenite and it'll help recharge them a little bit.

[00:31:38]kinda does the same thing. I call that like a baseline stone. It really helps for like a meditative awareness. So it doesn't take on negativity like relieve negativity or exude positively. It just kinda keeps everything a baseline. my favorite stones, Kaia Knight a K

[00:31:56] Noreen: It's a beautiful stone.

[00:31:58] Gennifer: What color is it?

[00:31:59] Jen: Blues deep blues sometimes. They're rainbowy

[00:32:02] Noreen: It's like

[00:32:04] Jen: yeah.

[00:32:05] Noreen: And it's like a range of

[00:32:07] blues, like you just said with some white silvery white, right?

[00:32:11] Jen: like it's very, it's very slated.

[00:32:14] Gennifer: That sounds gorgeous.

[00:32:15] Noreen: I have a beautiful piece that I was compelled to buy when I was at Mount Shasta and I just had to buy.

[00:32:24] I always learned that I use selenite regularly in my practice as a healer.

[00:32:29] Jen: yes.

[00:32:33] Yeah. Like a cell, a night's the one it could charge others or it's self clearing. Yeah, for sure. People use it in Reiki. Yeah. Like the big ones. And it's funny. Sometimes I it's self charging and it'll take on lots of other qualities. So like, for example, when we. Do, which is going to start up social distance.

[00:32:51] But we do a lot of gong baths in the space that I share it with the yoga studio Gulden prana and they, um, you know, sound better. That's hugely healing. And like literally like resets all the chakras. So I like literally will break when I get a new freight in of selenite. I put it in the studio, so it gets the effects from the guy two.

[00:33:12] And then

[00:33:12] Noreen: smart. Yeah, that's very cool.

[00:33:22] Gennifer: It is him.

[00:33:24]Noreen: Well, my God, we could go on for hours. We're going to have to have other.

[00:33:27] Gennifer: Chrysalis

[00:33:27] two a two

[00:33:30]Noreen:  for now, do you, do you think we'd like to go to our questions? Jam for now, do you think we'd like to go to our questions? Jam

[00:33:35] Gennifer: Yeah, let's do it. Let's do it. So I'm going to ask you one of your favorite questions, which is

[00:33:39]What kind of advice would you give your younger self?

[00:33:42]Jen: not be so hard on yourself and take a lot of chances and know that every chance you've ever taken is going to make your wiser self. I look back now and everything

[00:33:53] I did, and even some of the most challenging things I went through have made me who I am now. And I like who I am now. So, you know, not that I didn't like myself before, but I think younger self works harder, you know?

[00:34:08] Gennifer: Yeah. Yeah.

[00:34:09] Noreen: I thought of the phrase acquired taste, It's like as a, as a woman or anybody, but as you grow, you acquire your taste,

[00:34:22] and you know who you, you know who you are.

[00:34:24] Jen: That's exactly right. Like you're trying on lots of things for size and maybe not everything fits perfectly, but it doesn't mean you still can't wear it

[00:34:32] Gennifer: exactly. And where do you see yourself in 20 years?

[00:34:37] 30. I'm sorry.

[00:34:39] Yes. Jen, where do you see yourself in 30 years? I challenge you to just tell

[00:34:43] me

[00:34:44] Jen: fine. I'll go there. I okay. I'm going to jump out on a limb because I felt that last weekend, um, I had something going on and it just came to me. I would, I would be, I would love it if I was doing, some in depth, whether it's manifestation or it's obviously whatever it is, it's going to have crystals in it.

[00:35:03] You know that, but I'm some sort of deep. Type of retreat or property in like another country, maybe like Italy or France or something, a place where people can really get away. And, and, uh, and maybe that's not necessarily in another country. I think it's probably also going to be here on the Hudson Valley.

[00:35:21]Cause the Hudson Valley is my spiritual birthplace. It's the spiritual birthplace of my daughter. I've learned everything I've ever learned about myself in the Hudson Valley, literally majestic Hudson. Was birth many years ago, but not as what I am now. I took a retreat, a poetry retreat on, in a monastery on the river, like when I was 24, five years old.

[00:35:49]I registered the domain name, majestic hudson.com. I kid you not. And, and I like still I'm in touch with all the people from that retreat. And I just thought I was going to be at like, have a small press, cause I'm a printmaker too. And I thought that's what it would be. And three years ago, when I shifted from my brand reflect gen, which is still designed things under that brand, when I got the space for the store, I was like, of course, it's going to be majestic Hudson.

[00:36:17] And it's going to be about all makers, not just me. So that that's healing and manifestation in reverse action. If I could have told my younger self,

[00:36:27] Gennifer: Yeah.

[00:36:28] Noreen: that answer.

[00:36:29] Jen: think you're right. Wow. I have chills right now. You guys, I just have

[00:36:33] to say that, like, it's not very often people ask me about these kinds of things and, and I it's good reminders to thank you.

[00:36:40] Gennifer: when you said France and Italy, but I imagined the lavender fields and France and what you're talking about charging. And then

[00:36:55]Noreen: That's so cool. Oh, girls, I'm going to focus us.

[00:36:55] I'm sorry. We have to wrap up in 10 minutes.

[00:36:55]Jen: That's a crazy one. Oh my God. I have no idea. I'm afraid to answer that question

[00:37:08]Noreen: Jen, do you have an idea

[00:37:10] Jen: You have a, you guys give me an idea,

[00:37:12]Noreen: but I got an idea

[00:37:12] Jen: do it. I

[00:37:12] want to hear that. Okay.

[00:37:12] Noreen: funny.

[00:37:12] Gennifer: there's

[00:37:12] Jen: I had in my bed verbalize.

[00:37:15] Gennifer: So let's come back to that. Yeah.

[00:37:18] Noreen: Okay.

[00:37:19]

[00:37:19] Jen: My favorite word.

[00:37:28] Noreen: I think she got it.

[00:37:29] Jen: It's like not it's so not like a new age word. My daughter says that I used the word devices way too much.

[00:37:40] Gennifer: that's hilarious.

[00:37:42] Jen: or something when I'm not like meditating, but I would say it's not a D it's a it's. It makes me laugh when I hear that word. So I guess it could be one of my favorites.

[00:37:51] Best new discovery. I'm really into, um, like I was saying kinda like alchemy is a big word, but I like making potions and things like that. So I'm always, always, um, trying to. Put things together that don't always go together so that they become some kind of ritual. recently I did a lot of things with roses, so whether it was a Rose water, I had no idea that Rose is the power of roses, throughout history.

[00:38:21] So I think that's worth Googling for everybody. Um, Also, there was somebody in my life whose name was Rose. It was really important to me. So that's about very symbolic in some ways she was very connected to the earth. And it's some, sometimes it's something simple like that. So the discovery of the image of a Rose and the power of its fragrance and his power to heal that's power of memory and how it grows.

[00:38:43] And I mean, yeah.

[00:38:44] Noreen:

[00:38:45] love that.

[00:38:46]Gennifer: I like that. I have the woman who I think should play you in a movie.

[00:38:49] Jen: Okay. Tell me.

[00:38:50]Gennifer: comedian. I absolutely love her name is Jillian bell.

[00:38:56] She was in Brittany runs a marathon.

[00:38:59] She had a show on comedy central called idiot sitter. Um, and I don't, I don't know her from other, I

[00:39:04] Jen: want to have.

[00:39:04] Gennifer: her.

[00:39:04] What else she's been out. So she's been nominated for outstanding writing from a comedy series. there's something about her.
